This page describes the settings and recommendations of the associated egroup. This is an optional extension for members in the Object Technology User Group.

Intro Info

This provides us with significant functionality for communications by utilizing the features readily available through Yahoo Groups (formerly egroups.com)

You do not have to register as a Yahoo user to subscribe and receive emails but there are additional features available if you do register with Yahoo (free).
   
Group Email
Post message:
   to all egroup members by sending to the internet email address or by logging onto the egroup home page and creating a new message.
Subscribe:
   (OTUG members only, at this time, please) Reply to the invitation sent by moderator and you can start sharing emails right away.  Or log onto egroup home page with Yahoo ID and ask to subscribe.  To be recognized, be sure to edit your Yahoo profile.
Unsubscribe:
   You can retire from the group with an email if you change your mind.

Settings and behavior
Membership:
   Restricted, you must first join OTUG.  Moderator must send invitation or must approve subscribe request.
As members, you can:
   post messages, add files, use/edit a database, participate in polls
Email receiving:
   your choice.  You can receive each individually to your email account.
Or you can get them bundled up for a daily digest.
Or you can leave them as listings and pick them up when you want.
Email posting:
   yup.  you can post messages to all members.
No attachments are permitted (but you can save files in the respository)
