Meeting notes:

Matt Bauer gave a great presentation on Entity Beans 2.0 at the Java SIG meeting on August 26. After his formal presentation, there was a lively discussion usage patterns and style. They discussion items were:

  • When would you use Bean Managed Persistence over Container Managed Persistence?
  • How would you span two or more tables with a single entity bean?
  • Use of value objects, should they be immutable.

Matt will be making his presentation available on the web.

The discussion moved to what we be doing next. Dale gave a brief overview and a potential issue. The group decided that next meeting consist of Dale presenting the OahuWiki design and its extension points. We will start the Struts-based UI with the page load functionality.
